Attention Seniors and Senior Parents:
All seniors planning to attend UNR in the fall of 2014 need to complete your applications as soon as possible. Remember the drawing for the UNR gift basket on December 6, 2013. Bring proof of your acceptance to UNR to the high school office by December 5, 2013 to be entered in the drawing for the UNR “goodie” gift basket. Seniors should be registering to take the ACT or the SAT or both at www.actstudent.org and www.sat.collegboard.org. Dates for the SAT are November 2nd (register by October 3rd) and December 7th (register by November 8th). Dates for the ACT are December 14th (register by November 8th).If you are applying to out of state colleges and universities, now is the time to complete your applications. Feel free to call or email me with any questions.
I have met with most of the senior class; I am looking forward to meeting with the rest you. Please make a senior interview appointment by calling the office at 674-7660, option 2 or emailing Daisy at firstname.lastname@example.org . Be advised second semester class enrollment cannot take place until this interview is completed. Don’t delay!
Attention Juniors and Junior Parents:
The opportunity to meet with some of the juniors and their parents during junior review has been rewarding. While I have met with nearly all of the juniors, I still need the juniors who have not seen me for their review to stop by the office, or call Daisy and make an appointment to see me. All Junior reviews need to include at least one parent, so please call, 674-6770, press option 2, or email Daisy at email@example.com for your appointment. Don’t delay, as second semester college class enrollment, coming up the week of November 18, cannot take place until this interview is completed.
Juniors are encouraged and reminded to take the PSAT test on October 16th in Sierra 108. You must come to the office and pay the $14.00 test fee and get your PSAT practice test packet. We have a limited number of spaces still available.
Attention Sophomores and Sophomore Parents:
I will be meeting with sophomores on career and academic planning in January before college classes start second semester. We will talk about ACT/SAT testing, honors diploma (foreign language requirement), advanced sciences, as well as review the results of the PLAN test taken on September 18th. I will be conducting sophomore reviews with sophomores and their parents in March 2014. We are offering sophomore students the opportunity to take the PSAT exam on October 16th in Sierra 108, but do have a limited number of seats, so registration will be on a first come, first served basis. You must come to the office and pay the $14.00 exam fee and pick up the PSAT practice test packet.
